2025 Waste Diversion Data
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is pleased to share that Colorado's annual waste diversion data for 2025 is now complete. In total, Colorado diverted 16.7% of its municipal solid waste in 2025, which is an increase of 1% from the prior year.
The noteworthy trends in this year's data include a significant increase in year-over-year composting, steady and consistent recycling numbers, and a decrease in waste being landfilled for the fourth year in a row.
This data, along with all of Colorado's waste diversion data going back to 2018, can be accessed at the Department's website.
